This interactive presentation is facilitated by members of the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service and provides an overview of the types of risks and hazards which lead to a disaster or emergency that can be experienced in Winnipeg including floods, severe weather events, fires, power outages, and mass evacuations. With knowledge and understanding of these events, participants will be led through the process of developing a plan on how to respond during an emergency event; what happens if you are required to evacuate your home or apartment; what basic needs items are required for a72-hour home emergency kit; preparing a “go bag” for evacuation; as well, learn how the broader community and City will be prepared to support you in the event of an emergency or disaster.”
